2018 HSABC Conference

Homelessness Services Association BC (HSABC) is proud to launch its inaugural annual conference September 19-21, 2018.

The conference will be a wonderful opportunity to meet and network with professionals in the homelessness serving sector over three days of practical training and education. Conference attendees can also sign up for a selection of tours that will explore a range of innovative programs and shelters that provide support for people experiencing homelessness in Metro Vancouver communities.

Highlighting day one, Vikki Reynolds, clinical supervisor and Adjunct Professor, addresses her work responding to the opioid epidemic/poisonings from a social justice approach. The workshop will examine organizational cultures of resiliency, and related behaviours, as well as useful ways of understanding burnout and vicarious trauma.

Formed through a merger between the Greater Vancouver Shelter Strategy (GVSS) and Shelter Net BC (SNBC) in 2018, HSABC is proud to build on the legacy of both organizations and bring together service providers across the province. HSABC is a solution-focused, member-driven organization that supports shelters, drop-in centres, homeless outreach teams, and other service providers across the province to strengthen and unify services across BC to address the needs of persons experiencing homelessness.

Early bird registration has been extended until July 31, with limited spots available for training and tours. Spaces are filling up fast, so make sure to sign up to ensure you’re able to attend your preferred session!
