With so much change in the world, it is increasingly important to take care of our mental wellness, as well as the mental wellness of others. In honour of Bell Let’s Talk day today, we would like to bring awareness to a new mental wellness and recovery initiative of The Kettle Society – the pop-up Recovery Café.
The Recovery Café Vancouver will support members’ mental wellness and recovery goals through a set of core interventions:
- Recovery Circles – a weekly meeting with a trained facilitator and 8-10 peers where individuals are known, loved and held to their best selves
- School of Recovery – Life skill development, activities and classes including such things as budgeting, conflict resolution, meditation & mindfulness, creative writing, knitting, running club and yoga;
- In-reach complimentary consultations such as health, legal, veterinary and social services;
- Navigation to support services and resources in the community.
