Silver Wheaton Contributes $1.5 Million to Streetohome Foundation for Supportive Housing for Homeless Women and Families
Today Streetohome Foundation is pleased to announce that it has received a significant contribution of $1.5 million from Silver Wheaton, in support of Streetohome’s $26.5 million capital campaign to break the cycle of homelessness in Vancouver. The donation is earmarked for a brand new development located at 606 Powell Street that will provide 147 units for women and their children, as well as single women who are currently homeless or living in sub-standard housing. This gift will assist with the challenges many women face in raising their children, and highlight the importance of keeping families together by providing services that help promote stability and well-being for the whole family.
Streetohome Foundation Receives Support for Supportive Housing for Homeless Youth and Adults
Today Streetohome Foundation is pleased to announce that it has received two generous commitments in support of its capital campaign to break the cycle of homelessness in Vancouver. CIBC and Canadian Western Bank have both contributed generously to the campaign in support of the housing development at 1134 Burrard Street. The building, which is supported by Streetohome Foundation’s capital campaign, will provide homes for 141 youth and adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The Province of B.C. and the City of Vancouver broke ground today on the site, which is scheduled for completion in July 2013.
Streetohome Foundation Receives $375,000 from Coast Capital Savings to Support Housing for Youth

This generous donation will be allocated to the housing development at 2465 Fraser Street to provide 103 supported housing units, of which 30 units will be dedicated to youth between the ages of 16 and 24.
