The Stool

Housing is only one of several dimensions of any thriving citizen.  Individuals with lived experience of, or at-risk for homelessness may have multiple unmet needs.

Housing Needs

Family reunification, independent housing, shelter, supportive housing, addiction treatment / recovery housing.


Health & Wellness

Care for problematic substance use, mental health challenges, and physical well-being, including vision, hearing, and dental health.

Employment

Labour market engagement and purposeful activity by connecting employers with employees and organizations with volunteers.

Training & Skills

Life skills development; high school equivalency; continuing education; knowledge and skills certification; work readiness skills and job training.

Legal Support

Legal issues resolution including immigration, justice system involvement, securing government benefits, family law, housing, and employment rights.

Supportive Housing

Since 2008, Streetohome has contributed capital to the construction of 24 buildings across Vancouver that have already providing homes for over 2,500+ individuals including youth, single adults, couples, families, and seniors.

Streetohome addresses multiple unmet needs
Streetohome’s role is a trusted agent and advisor for innovative change in preventing and addressing homelessness as well as its impact on Vancouver. Streetohome brokers the private sector into taking smart risks in adapting, integrating, and validating evidence-based initiatives. This work includes thorough and ongoing assessment to ensure accountability for system synergies, efficiencies, and outcomes.
