2018 HSABC Conference

Homelessness Services Association BC (HSABC) is proud to launch its inaugural annual conference September 19-21, 2018. The conference will be a wonderful opportunity to meet and network with professionals in the homelessness serving sector over three days of practical training and education. Conference attendees can also sign up for a selection of tours that will explore a range of innovative programs and shelters that provide support for people experiencing homelessness in Metro Vancouver communities.

St. Paul’s The HUB

Streetohome is partnering with St Paul’s Hospital to build a space – the ‘HUB’ – that includes 10 clinical treatment spaces and a transitional centre including common lounge, kitchen, overnight accommodation with bathroom and shower facilities for eight individuals. The HUB will serve those living with severe addictions and mental health issues.

Olivia Skye

Streetohome partnered with Atira Women’s Resource Society to develop Olivia Skye (41 East Hastings), a 198 unit mixed-income building in the Downtown Eastside. This development has market rentals, rent geared to income units (maximum rent 30% of income), and supportive housing all under one roof. Annex 2 Housing

Streetohome partnered with Pacific Community Resources Society (PCRS) to create housing that meets the needs of homeless youth including those who are Indigenous, identify as LGBTQ2S, and/or are transitioning out of foster care or juvenile detention. Since its inception in 2008, Streetohome has contributed more than $31M from the private sector to leverage a variety of projects and programs including 1335 units of supportive housing, the Vancouver Rent Bank, WorkWithUs and Supporting Tenants, Enabling Pathways.

Goldcorp’s $5 million gift to Streetohome

Over the past five years, Goldcorp has contributed over $120 million to communities to support education, health, community development and the arts. In 2010, Goldcorp was one of the first private sector donors, contributing $5 million to Streetohome to build homes for the homeless or at risk of homelessness.
